Well, I guess it is something like losing your virginity. A first blog. A new world. New impressions. New audience. New distraction.
Andre ( www.rmz-2010.blogspot.com) and myself have been preparing for about a year and a half for this trip and in 19 days I will leave wife and kids for my midlife crisis adventure...
We've bought our BMW's, got our gear together, did some (very limited) training, shots and visas.
Just a few things missing and I cannot wait to get through the next weeks. Butterflies are occaisionally freely roaming my belly. Am I in love?
When this idea was conceived, I was hoping to go with a group of 4, but a bad back and their own businesses put that idea out of action. Andre was the remaining fool, and we are ready for it...I hope.
Work colleagues are getting nervous, thinking about me leaving for 6 weeks, so that is a good sign.
My biggest issue now are some small modifications to my BMW R1200 GS. I want the "cruise control" (aka throttle lock) before I leave.
And getting my Helmet Cam attached to my helmet without problem is a challenge. I have one of these silly fold up helmets, and of course, the bloody camera assy gets in the way....
So perhaps the side of the helmet, and keep the front down...It's going to be a hot hot summer.
