OK, started off in Burgos direction East... yes.
Southern route to visit Tom and family could not be done safely so we decided to cut across to the east coast where the cruise liner would await us.
Conditions were cold again, but I kept on hoping for that small hole in the sky. First 7 degrees, then up to 8, then 10. Riding was a bit boring. Very little traffic, so at times I had problems staying concentrated. Try that in NL.
As we arrived in Zaragosa, it was quite nice. Drove to the center and sat down in a cafe for the war plan.
Stark choices were due. Ferry from Alicante was not confirmed; we called all over but were not comfortable with the answers. If that went wrong, the whole trip would be problematic.
So we cut our losses and booked a ferry from Marseille to Tunis. That will help us catch up and give a day extra in Egypt also we hope. Sorry Algeria.
So now, defrosted in Lleida, 17 degrees when we got off around 1900, and things are looking up.
No time to post the vids; but I assure you they will come.

ReplyDeleteThe great adventure is begun! Be carreful in South France, it looks that the weather is awful there....
Have fun.

A real trip is not without problems! I like your managerial problem solving.
ReplyDeletePoor Algeria! Keep the spirits.
Alles ondercontrole in Voorschoten. The Norwegians arrived tonight.

This is a shambles! What motorbike tour around the Mediterranean? It's turning into a luxury cruise voyage.
ReplyDeleteI hope our trip around Vietnam is going to be organised better than this. I'll have the pink Spraycan Of Shame ready if anything like this happens. (Obscure reference to Top Gear here, folks).
Ha, we're in Algeria now, the pink spraycan is for you!
