Decided to stay in Matmata and do some off road driving. Egypt is out of the question so we are just seeing day by day what appears to be most fun.
First part was on road and we had some fun with camels, and taking vids of each other, practising all things that are not allowed back home. Gave the camera head to Andre but the wire is only about 1 meter long, so coordinated driving was needed.
Also discovered that the remote control does not work well when I have the recorder in my insulated backback behind the water bottle. Found the same at home but blamed that on the laptop. So we lost some footage.
Boy the offroad was good fun, even taking the crash into account. Andre asked me to pull up beside him, and I was mucking around with the camera - yes Vince, I still have some way to go there - hit some soft sand and was down in a flash. Just kept thinking shit, I'm the first to fall off.....We were only doing about 20 or so, no real damage except for my pride.

The softer bits were tricky with the big bikes, but there was hardly any. Now and then there were big ruts washed out by the rain. Two choices: lot's of speed, or no speed. Depending on when you notice them of course, you decide quickly.

Got back and impressed the other guests at the pool - none actually, although an older two blokes also on the bike arrived and chatted for a bit. They had experienced a sandstorm and did not want to camp out.
It could be us in 20 years...
Needed lots of water to rince out all the sand and dust and off to the webshop.

Jammer van Spanje, dat je niet bij Tom&jesus langs kan.Wat de kou betreft: jij hebt toch wel je lange onderboek bij je? Filmpjes plaatsen wil geloof ik nog niet zo lukken maar des te meer heb je dan te laten zien als jullie weer terug zijn toch?
ReplyDeleteWij zijn druk bezig met de voorbereiding voor de Venetië roeitrip, als we niet kunnen vliegen(vulkaanas!) dan moeten we helaas met de auto.
Sterkte in het land van The Great Loeder, misschien heb je gehoord dat er een vliegtuig is neergestort bij Tripoli met 61 Nederlandse doden ? Bike ze en groeten aan Andre .
